RSL-100: Rockwell Software RSLinx Software

Description This 8-hour (1-day) course allows students to gain hands on experience using Rockwell software RSLinx software to configure, understanding, and troubleshooting PLC communications for Allen-Bradley SLC-500, MicroLogix and PLC-5 systems.

  • Introduction to RSLinx
  • Communication protocols used by processors: RS232, DH+, DH485 & Ethernet
  • Configuring RSLinx Drivers: RS232, DH+, DH485 & Ethernet
  • Configuring address and channel communication for Allen-Bradley Processors
  • Selecting proper cable for driver type
  • Troubleshooting various communication problems
  • Hands-on setting up RSLinx drivers and communication with a processor at various stations setup in classroom
Prerequisites Students should be familiar with Allen Bradley programmable controllers, and Windows 2000 or Windows XP. Basic knowledge of RSLogix5 or RSLogix500 software for the particular programmable controller is desirable. THIS IS NOT AN ENTRY LEVEL TRAINING PROGRAM.

  • Understand various network types used with Allen-Bradley processors
  • Configure and use RSLinx drivers to communicate with Allen-Bradley processors

A-760: ROCKWELL FactoryTalk View ME HMI Software

Description This 36 hour training program is designed for the maintenance troubleshooter to enable them to use PanelView Plus terminals, FactoryTalk View ME and FactoryTalk View Studio to assist in correcting line stoppages and errors. Emphasis is on troubleshooting rather that on programming, although exposure to the many software features is included. It is assumed that the technician will be using existing FactoryTalk View ME, Communications, and PLC programs.

  • Use the Tag Database to add and make minor edits to memory and device tags.
  • Open the Graphic Display Editor and identify tags associated with objects.
  • Use the Graphic Display Editor to add and make minor edits to objects.
  • Open, evaluate, and make minor edits to Expressions used in object dialog boxes.
  • Track and make minor edits to display Navigation commands.
  • Use the Alarm Monitor to view and acknowledge alarms.
  • Use the Alarm Editor to add and make minor edits to alarms.
  • Setup and edit data Trends.
