On-Site Training - A CASE STUDY

A Major U.S. Brewing Concern:

Problem: This premier brewing company was installing new, standardized automation systems in several of its breweries throughout North America. They needed training programs that were customized around their specific systems and standards. Furthermore, they were looking for consistency in the training so that they would have the same training delivered in several different locations. We were hired to develop two customized training programs covering their new Allen-Bradley ControlLogix applications.

Solution: Intellect developed several training programs that addressed the control applications on their brewing, bottling, and packaging lines. One course introduced their personnel to the maintenance and troubleshooting requirements for their Allen-Bradley ControlLogix systems. An advanced course detailed the network communications and diagnostic functions of their systems. These courses incorporated coverage of the client’s programming standards. We developed training manuals, hands-on exercises and instructor guides that complied with the company’s training material specifications.

Outcome: We delivered this training on-site, at several different brewery locations resulting in a consistent exchange of information at a widely dispersed manufacturing operation. The delivery of the training was timed to coordinate with the installation of the new bottling and packaging lines, thus reducing ramp-up time. There was also significant cost savings in curriculum coordination and travel expenses.
