CASE STUDIES
General Motors Canada, Oshawa, Ontario
Problem: Extensive on-site training support for the GMT 800 truck launch project was needed at this facility. The project included more than 10,000 man-hours of hands-on training on Industrial Hydraulics and Allen-Bradley PLC-5, DeviceNet, 1336 VFD, 1394 GMC Motion and PanelView applications.
Solution: Intellect Controls Group customized the courses in both length and content to meet their training curriculum requirements and shift schedules. The training was delivered on-site, thus eliminating travel costs and allowing the training project and product launch to occur simultaneously.
Outcome: Intellect Controls Group utilized the advanced manufacturing training cells at this facility, which included all of the above-mentioned applications and also ABB S4C robots. This allowed us to enhance the training experience by having students work in the training cells to apply their knowledge through hands-on practice with factory machinery.
General Motors, Pontiac, Michigan
Problem: We provided extensive on-site training at this facility in connection with their GMT 800 truck launch project. This facility has a large in-house training staff and we worked closely with them to ensure that our training was coordinated with their in-house training efforts.
Solution: We customized our course curriculum so that that their employees received the proper prerequisites to enter into the Pontiac sponsored training programs. We provided hands-on training covering their Allen-Bradley PLC-5, 1336 VFD, 1394 GMC Motion and PanelView applications.
Outcome: This successful coordination with the in-house training department saved training time and dollars by ensuring that employees entered the company sponsored courses with the proper skills.
